I've lived in the Şişli neighbourhood of Istanbul for over seven years, and every single morning — whether I'm watching the city wake from my apartment window or ducking into a tiny börek shop before 8 a.m. — I find something worth writing about. Türkiye has that effect on people.

This blog was born out of frustration with the same recycled "Top 10 Istanbul" lists that tell you nothing real. I wanted to write about the things a local actually knows: the ferry line that's never crowded, the meyhane in Balıkpazarı that doesn't appear on any map, the coastal village in Karadeniz that feels like the 1970s never ended.

I'm a writer, a restless traveller, and — by heritage — a bridge between Armenian and Turkish stories that rarely get told together. That perspective shapes everything here. Honest, unhurried, and always rooted in real experience.
